Neurodivergent Birth Awareness Week 2025

❤️ ANNOUNCING THE FIRST EVER ‘Neurodivergent Birth Awareness Week’!❤️

5-11th December 2025

Note: not a Monday-Sunday! The 5th of December is my daughter Thea’s birthday, pictured here a few years ago in her rainbow-clad glory, and her future experience of maternity care, should she one day have children, is my personal in-the-belly motivation behind this work 🔥 💪🏻

Will you JOIN US in dedicating time during this week to raising awareness of neurodivergent perinatal experiences, and why it is so vital that we improve support for neurodivergent women and birthing people today, and for future generations like Thea’s?

Supporting Neurodivergent Lactation

A 90 Minute Workshop looks at some of the key themes relevant to breastfeeding and chestfeeding babies for neurodivergent people.

What you'll get:

  • A toolkit to support the journey in a self-compassionate way

  • Learn about regulating the nervous system to foster a more joyful experience

  • Downloadable infographics to support sensory needs

  • Links to relevant resources

I loved the open attitude of the facilitators as well as their own honesty about their experiences. It really helped me to open my mind more to support all people and their experiences of pregnancy, postpartum and birth.

The timing of this workshop works well with the training split between two morning sessions. There were plenty of discussions around how neurodivergency can impact the perinatal experience and how neurodivergent people may be perceived by care providers. The training included several breakout sessions for the participants to discuss different case studies and scenarios and the groups were changed every time so although on zoom we got the chance to talk with all other participants, which was great. The case studies presented during the training, both as part of the overall conversation and of the breakout sessions were really helpful to gather examples of how different people may experience neurodiversity in different ways. The second day was focussed on ways to develop skills and ideas to support neurodivergent clients and the resources provided are really helpful.

Neurodivergent Birth Awareness Week 2025

I really enjoyed the two session that Victoria and Sam delivered for The Calm Birth School Instructors. It was professional, yet relaxed and incredibly insightful. If you are a birth worker, this is a CPD course that you MUST have on your to-do list

The workshop was well structured and presented in a very clear way. I have come away from it feeling much more confident to support ND people during perinatal period.
