About the event

Baby Brain is a dark comedy-drama about new motherhood, told with brutal honesty and even darker humour, starring BAFTA-winning actress Kimberley Nixon.

Cass is a new mother confined to a Mother & Baby Unit, in the grip of a mental health crisis. The only way she can make sense of what's happening to her is to get up and do stand-up. Over 55 unflinching minutes, the show blurs the line between comedy routine, psychological unravelling, and reality.

Co-written by Nixon with writer-directors Tim Clague and Danny Stack, Baby Brain is a "slightly true story," drawing on Nixon's own experience of postnatal mental illness. It's a piece about postpartum psychosis, the hidden struggles of early motherhood, and identity under trauma, approached with dark comedy rather than delicacy. The play has toured UK fringe festivals including Greater Manchester Fringe, Camden Fringe, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

This performance is a special fundraising event for Neurodivergent…
