COSP™ Programme Overview

Circle of Security Parenting™ aims to support parents to nurture their relationships with their child(ren) and enhance secure attachment. It introduces a series of graphics to help parents understand attachment theory in an accessible manner and connect with their child.

COSP can help parents understand unique attachment expressions and behaviours in neurodivergent children, reframing challenging behaviours as opportunities for connection. A 2023 exploratory case study also shows promising results for COSP with parents of children with learning disabilities, indicating improved attachment and parent-child relationships. COSP’s structured, reflective approach supports neurodivergent parents themselves by providing clear frameworks for understanding and responding to their children’s needs, fostering deeper connection and joy despite communication differences.
