"Think Neurodivergence First" Pin Badge

Price

£5.00

Neurodivergent traits are frequently misread as red flags. Communication differences, executive functioning challenges, unconventional parenting styles, and smaller social networks can all trigger negative assumptions about bonding, capability, or lifestyle, when they simply reflect neurological difference rather than risk, neglect, or a "difficult" person.

A 'Think Neurodivergence First' approach asks services to pause before making assumptions or escalating, and consider: "Could this behaviour reflect an unmet need, sensory sensitivity, or communication difference rather than a cause for concern?”

This means exploring any differences in a compassionate, non-judgemental way, before drawing conclusions, and distinguishing between differences that need accommodation and risks that require intervention.

We'd like to invite maternity professionals to wear a 'Think Neurodivergence First' pin on their lanyard. A small (1.25'') but visible commitment, it helps promote awareness and opens up conversation in the workplace, keeping this approach front of mind for ourselves and visible to the people we support.

Pins are available in the UK for £5 which includes postage.
